Tommy has 30 years of various types of counseling. While he has just recently finished his M.S. in Counseling from West Texas A&M University he has been counseling before that in the role of a Minister.
Tommy became a minister in 1993, after high school he joined the United States Army before returning and getting a B.S. in Psychology from Texas A&M University. After graduation, he did work as a probation officer in Brazos County and continued to serve as a Minister of local churches.
In 2003 Tommy went back to get his M.A. in Christian Education and began serving full-time as a Minister. During the years to follow he has been on several church staffs providing counseling to teenagers, the families of teenagers, spiritual counseling, marriage, and premarital counseling.
In 2018 Tommy took a position working at an in-patient intensive treatment facility as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. He excelled at working with clients to battle depression, anxiety, substance abuse, codependency, and anger. It was during these years he decided that he wanted to provide more counseling than he was as a Minister or LCDC and started working on his second Master’s Degree.
Tommy has a desire to help people and truly does believe that every person has the ability to conquer whatever struggles are facing. He adds that “they might just need a little help getting there!"
Tommy continues to serve as the Minister of a local church in Fredericksburg, Texas, and desires to provide quality counseling to anyone that needs it in Gillespie County.
